Historic Firehouse No2 was constructed in the early 1900’s, a mere 4 blocks to the west by the city, at the head of Boonville Avenue. It was built by simply constructing a front wall and a back wall between existing buildings on the northeast and northwest corners, closing Boonville Avenue to vehicular traffic over the railroad tracks just to the north. The popular “Ghost Signs” or turn of the century advertisements that can be seen (and often used a photographic backdrops) upstairs in the Studio Bridal Area and in the offices of Historic Firehouse No2 originally advertised the businesses on both sides of Boonville Avenue, so named as it was the way to Nathaniel Boone’s (son of Daniel Boone) homestead.

The beauty of an outdoor ceremony at Historic Firehouse No2 is undeniable. Whether it’s a small ceremony in our courtyard garden for family and friends with a ritual foot washing, followed by a larger reception inside, or a larger ceremony, for up to 250 guests, outside followed by a grand reception inside, your special day will most certainly be remembered as an event of historic proportion. Inside or out, we’ve got the perfect stage to celebrate the beginning of your new life together.

Inside or outside, large or small, your certain to find yourselves in good hands. And we have found it to be relatively simple to move a ceremony indoors if weather threatens…heaven forbid, but it does happen. It is our job to worry about the weather and be prepared to make whatever adjustments are necessary. At Historic Firehouse No2, we can go either way at the drop of a hat, taking all that pressure off our bride and groom and their families.
